About the Piece
Royal binding. Belonging to the Duke of Orleans, Premier Prince of the Blood and cousin of the king. He was father of Phillipe d'Orleans, later called Phillipe Egalitie, who voted for the death of Louis XVI in 1793. His principal palace was the Palais Royal across from the Louvre in Paris. Holy book in Latin and French for usage in Rome and Paris for the House of Monseigneur the Duke of Orleans. Printed in Paris by Jean-Baptiste Coignard, printer for the Duke of Orleans. Also with a later stamp on the title page.
